Need advice on repairing jacket
#1
I picked this jacket up at goodwill last night. It's leather and both pockets have rips. What's the best way to repair it?
Thanks

the other pocket is a little more ripped.

Been there! I put a little patch of sturdy fabric behind the tear and then stitched. Either zig zag or straight stitch, which ever would show less. I used a heavy thread too. A dry cleaner that cleans leather would have someone that could too. Sometimes they use glue though and I didn't like that.
Looks like a nice warm jacket!

i would use a patch also, but i would also use rubber cement. that's what they use to shorten leather coats. after that i would slowly stitch by hand right through the rubber cement. if you stitch a "V" pattern at all 4 corners (both ends of both pockets), you'll get a nice tailored detail that will add to the overall look. the "V" doesn't have to be filled in. it should form a triangle.
