Thank You QuiltNNan!!!
No big time celebrations for me .... I was happy to stay home and out of the +30C weather. While my home doesn't have a/c, it has stayed pretty nice. And by staying home ... I was thrilled to celebrate by doing some quilting, as I watched the Celebrations on TV (along with some I Love Lucy reruns!!).
Actually I guess my sewing was celebration oriented ... I was working on my Monty the Mountie for the International Patriotic Challenge Thread. He's almost done, and hopefully, I can get him finished off tomorrow.
Most of the public celebrations would have been today, though tomorrow is the actual Stat Holiday. So most things will be closed, and most people will be enjoying a holiday!
Thanks for thinking of us ... and helping us to celebrate!

so glad you got to use the day for quilting! i hope to see a picture of your quilt soon! we do the same here in the US... if a national holiday falls on the weekend, the Monday becomes the holiday.

Stayed in the a/c also until the evening fireworks. Still not able to sew due to bursitus in my shoulder but I have been spending my down time surfing through Utube quilting videos on my IPad instead. Thank goodness for Quiltingboard as well or I'd be going crazy by now!

Thanks QNNan ... I'll be sure to post him to this thread!
Tartan ... oh poor you! Virtual quilting is nice, but I'm sure frustrating when you can't do any IRL! The saving grace has been that it's cooled nicely at night, hasn't it?
