Peanut butter.
I went to three grocery stores to find the peanut butter we like. Jif low sodium Natural. Shelves were bare of peanut butter except some store brands and a few brands of organic which were four times the price of store brand. I couldn't find low salt peanut butter in any of those brands. I'm not on a low sodium diet just find regular peanut butter too salty for my taste. We eat a lot of peanut butter and we all prefer Jif Natural. When it comes back in stock I'm stocking up!

I just checked. I have about a1/2 cup left in my big jar of peanut butter. Wouldn't you know that it is in the recall. (we eat a lot of peanut butter)
Most of the articles about it just told you where to find the lot numbers. I didn't like that they didn't specifically show you the lot numbers are on the jar. Yes, they said by the used date, but my jar had 11 numbers long where the recall is 7 numbers long.
Then when searching I found an article like was linked above and I discovered that it is the FIRST 7 numbers you are looking at. Especially the numbers 425 in the fifth, sixth, and seventh position.
Thankfully, neither myself nor my husband got sick.

We just bought a new 40 oz jar of Jif Creamy Peanut Butter from Walmart. It is unopened and the website says to dispose of it (which we will), but it seems with the cost of groceries today we should be able to be reimbursed for the price we paid. I don't see any recalls mentioning how to do that. Of course, our receipt is long gone. Any suggestions?

Let me guess, it's been recalled because it might contain peanuts. Just kidding, I know food allergies can be severe. Onebyone, have you ever tried PB2? It's a powder, usually on the top shelf at the store. It doesn't seem to have salt. Just mix it with water to peanut butter consistency. I discovered it while on Weight Watchers years ago.
