Penzey's Spices
#11
I love Fox Point the best. Use it on anything and everything. When Mom passed away this past summer I took her Penzeys. Boy did she have some strange things.....Florida (seasoned pepper), Sate, Sunny Paris, Herbes de Provence, Tuscan Sunset and Bicentennial Rub (a Colonial Seasoning). They are fun. We have a Penzeys about a mile from where we (it is so hard to say I when I have said we for 53 years). And yes, they are much better than Durkee's. Edie

penszeys spices
I just made a trip, from southeast ga to Jacksonville,Fl, to the new store. I have been a faithful user for years. I love the catalogs and use all the coupons. Our store even honors them if they are expired. This is a great customer service for those of us who travel 50 miles to visit the store. I came home with 2 shopping bags with 6bags and 11bottles. Yes I use Penzey's for everthing. I give their their gift boxes for wedding showers and wedding gifts and have never not gotten an excited thank you from the bride.

I am so pleased to see all the positive Penzey's reviews. My family has been using their spices for 4 generations: my grandparents, my parents, me, and our 30 something year old children.
You mean there is possibly another brand of spices and spice blends?

Watch for the promotions around the holidays. This year there were 2 gift boxed choices, one regular cooking spices and one blends. I believe there were 6 nice jars, recipe cards for each spice, a dish towel and a pin...for $19.00! I bought 8 (free shipping) and forgot to save one for myself.
I use a label maker to add the month and year to the spice jars when they are opened so I don't keep them too long.

Another good brand is Watkins....been around for a long time. What a difference from grocery store brands. Go easy on the black pepper.....these specialty spices may be expensive, but find that a little goes a long way due to freshness, I guess. My grandmother sold Watkins in the early 1900's....before women were "allowed" to work...she is the one, along with my Mom, who started me on Watkins. My mother is 91 and is still buying from them.
