I forgot how universal posting anything here is and posted a quilt I do not want shown all over. I have seen several of mine on Pinterest and was surprised, but not bothered. Then I posted both sides of my son's quilt. His daughters' pictures are on the back. I do not post pictures of my grandchildren and was taken aback. I finally stopped worrying about it because they are certainly nicer than the ones they post on Facebook of themselves.
I don't go on Pinterest, but there was a link about Spicy Spirals that I followed and mine were there - then I spotted D's quilt.

i would be flattered if somebody wanted to pin a quilt i'd made.
i would be very ticked off, though, if they pinned it without my knowledge and permission.
that does not make me crazy or nasty.
when i post here i do that because i want it posted here.
i do that to share with my friends and fellow members or guests here.
the desire to do a thing does not constitute an entitlement to do that thing.
the ability to do a thing does not constitute an entitlement to do that thing.
commonly recognized principles of courtesy and fair play should still apply.

I don't really see the difference between having your quilt hang at a show, where many, many people take pics of it, or posting it on a site and having someone pin it. I look at other people's quilts all of the time..never to copy them exactly, but for inspiration..maybe I like a color combo on one, or the quilting on another...
We have to remember to encourage and inspire each other!
Pinterest is just an on line bulletin board..no different than going to see a quilt, taking a pic, then coming home and putting the pic on your old cork bulletin board.
