Question on Hot Water Heater
I suspect I need to replace my tank hot water heater. I can see a small or slow trail of water running toward the drain from under the heater. My question is should I go tankless? Please give me advice from your own experience. Right now it is a big thing. Space is not a problem. I have never had to deal with this before.
Thanks.

I feel your pain, there have been many threads recently on this topic as I had the same questions.

I am currently on the fence, a new one is 1800.00, and a tankless system was quoted between 4-5k here in Ohio.

We had to replace our HW during the first part of the C shut down. The new one is directly wired into the wall. No more plug ins due to local building codes. We upgraded the size needed so we never run out of hot water.
Get a few estimates before deciding.

We went tankless for hot water when we had to replace our heater several years ago. Best thing ever. Our heat/hot water is natural gas. Our gas bill dropped dramatically immediately. You do have to let the water run a bit the further out from the source before it gets hot but then you're all set.
