We always camped when the kids were younger. I too miss the campfires. For the past several years we've been kicking around the idea of getting a camper but decided for the $$ we could camp at some pretty nice motels. However, I think the discussion is just tabled for now - I still see a camper in our future.

DH grew up camping. When I was growing up we went to my grandmother's house on the beach or friends of my parents place in the Cariboo. When we first married we tent camped. After 15 years of tenting dh convinced me we needed an RV. Actually it was the torrential rainstorm that convinced me. We bought a used class c and love it. I have driven it more than dh and I can do all the chores inside and out.

We always have awesome breakfasts, here's my favorite recipe:12 eggs beaten, 2 cups milk, 1 lb ground sausage or bacon(I don't use nearly that much) 7 cups shredded cheddar cheese, 6 slices of bread, cubed, one onion saute'd. Brown sausage, saute onion set aside, layer cubed bread, meat and cheese. Mix eggs, milk, salt and pepper to taste, pour over layered casserole.
Bake at 350 degrees 60-70 mins uncovered in oven, until golden brown and bubbly.

I have a small 2 berth caravan which I tow I love it. I pitch up at a designated site plug in electric and begin sewing. Some ow the days seem so long and peaceful and I get so much done. My dogs also think it is wonderful as w go on long exciting walks in new places, hills and exciting smelly beaches.
