Thank you all for your help and suggestions. The person I am making the dog for has been recommended to use simplicity pattern 6970. I am having difficulty finding this pattern. I think it is a very old one. Any ideas.

I don't remember the name of the pattern I bought in early 2000 but here is almost the same pattern on eBay made up. Pm me if you want any additional info.
