Singer 301
I found a singer 301 that has been serviced and is ready to go for 200.00. I haven't seen it in person, it is on Cragislist but not so far that I can't go see it. Just wondering if this is a good buy? Thought this might be my Christmas present this year. Thanks for any thoughts you might have, and your ideas of what to look for if I decide to buy.

I recently bought one for my birthday present. I paid $179.00, plus shipping for a total of $207.00, for it on ebay. I had it serviced after I got it (another $85.00). I don't think that's too high for a good one that has been serviced and is ready to sew. I would be sure to check the wiring and make sure it's in good condition.

I paid $86 for mine and had it shipped to me in the price. It works just fine, but I am taking it down to my regular sewing machie guy to do a thorough cleaning and everything. He charges $50 for that.
