What do you use to stuff the Pin Cushion part?
A committee of girls at our quilt guild are making pin cushion and can stuffing like for stuffed animals be used or should we use something better? Thanks for input.

For fabric pin cushions I use sand in the bottom and regular stuffing in the top.
For teacup & Styrofoam balls I glue the tight ball to the inside bottom of the cup. If I use stuffing I draw the string tight and glue to inside bottom of cup. If there is a saucer to match the cup I hot glue them together and this provides a stable piece.

Thanks everyone. We are making a jelly jar with cut up scraps like your corners you use for leaders and enders and then the top of the jar lid is the pin cushion. Then wrap some raffiea around lid. put a label on that says quilt jam.

I use fiberfill. If I needed weight I'd put sand in the bottom or maybe some emery, but doubled bagged. Some people are allergic to nuts (including my daughter) so I would not use that for any that you will be giving/selling or even if you sew for someone else (the pins can spread the allergens to whatever you are working on).
