Windex for tight rings

Windex for tight rings
Need to get your rings off for repair, cleaning, impending surgery or whatever? Spray your rings and finger with some Windex. Twist them a little, and off they come! I was skeptical, because my rings were really tight, but I figured I had nothing to lose, so I tried it. I could not believe how easy it was. A nurse at the hospital told me to try it, or try anything, because they might have to cut my rings off. I've heard of using shampoo, dish soap, wrapping a string around your finger, threading the end under your ring and sliding it off as you unwind it, etc. This was a whole lot easier!

I didn't post this link, but a few years ago I injured my ring finger which swelled until I could barely twist the rings on my finger. I went to Urgent Care to have them cut off; the doctor thought a minute and then told me to wait for him to return. He returned with dental floss! I wanted to say, "I don't need my teeth cleaned" but I refrained. He threaded the floss under the rings leaving a couple of inches. Then he wrapped quite a long portion around my finger. As he pulled on the part underneath the rings, they started moving and came off after two wrappings. I couldn't believe it!

Some situations, I've had to run under cold water and use soap. That works. I tried the ring thing with the string but used the dental floss. Didn't realize that was the last of the dental floss. OOPS! it worked.

my grdaughters have a game they love. my rings are so loose, the flop around on my fingers. so they try to get them off. all the soap, windex, floss or whatever will do nothing when trying to move rings over arthritis enlarged finger joints. but my little treasures are determined ..."yes we can!" .
