Hello from the mountains of West Virginia
Hello everyone,
New to quilting, I always said I would save learning to quilt until I was old. Well I am there! At least I feel like it at times. Retired and moved to WV for the views. Beautiful to say the least. I am trying to figure out how to read the labels on Gutermann thread spools. Their must be a system to it. Weight is not specified only a # after NE (NE 50) I have searched their site and numerous others and no luck. Does anyone else know how or if the thread weight is listed on the spools?

Welcome from a transplanted New Englander. Hope you like crowds. We are a very large bunch. J If you have questions, we have answers, and if you have answers we will think up some questions.
I am almost postive that spools will tell you the weight.

I know the higher the number the smaller the thread. This is a sewing weight thread. The Bernina Hause used to sell this brand maybe they still do, I haven't been there in a while. You might try googling thread weights and see what you come up with.
