Hello From Texas
#1
I am new to quilting. My church has started a quilting guild, but the teacher only knows how to piece, so we are all learning together. It is going slow because some of the members do not know how to sew.
I see interesting blocks and patterns and have started a notebook of patterns I would like to make in the future.
I am interested in learning how to quilt the quilt sandwich.

Hi and welcome to the board. I am from Garland, TX, near Dallas. Which part of the state do you live in, if I may ask? And learning together is not such a bad thing to start with. That way, no one laughs at any one but only with each other as you learn. I'm glad you have taken up our "hobby". I put hobby in quotes because sometimes it takes on a life of its own and becomes an obsession. Just read the board and you will see what I mean! :)

I am from Houston. I've been interested in learning to quilt since 2000. I try out a lot of different blocks to see how difficult they are. My first quilt is "summer twist". I'm doing it in black, white, and red. you can find a picture of it at this site http://www.aenathan.com/?stmpl=freep...heets&view=209.

hey tndrsroni, I'm not too far out of Houston going East. Welcome aboard, you'll like us we're good people! Do you have a name we can call you? It's much easier to remember "real" names than screen names.
