Hi from Florida
Hi there! I'm a 23-year-old Registered Nurse in Central Florida. I know almost nothing about sewing and I'm only just learning about quilting, and I have no one around to teach me, so I expect it to be an exciting challenge. I'm the kind of girl to throw myself into something and immerse myself in order to learn all of the new techniques, vocabulary, and skills I need, so that's my plan with quilting. I've always been interested in quilts, but my current interest was sparked when a lady donated ten or fifteen lap quilts to the patients on the hospital unit I work on. I really like the idea of being able to make something like that for people to admire, enjoy, and appreciate. =) I look forward to learning from and with all of you!

Welcome from Ontario, Canada. Quilting is a creative, rewarding hobby. You might like to view some of the videos done by Jenny Doan from the Missouri Star Quilt Company. They are on youtube and she has easy patterns for table runners or small quilts that are a great starting point for beginner quilters.

Contact the lady that made the quilts for your hospital. Ask her if she is in a Guild. That would give you person to person in your town. Oh Did I say Welcome ???You are. Hugs PS Find a store that sells sewing machines or fabric. They usually offer sewing classes.
