Hi from Maryland
Hi everyone. I'm fairly new to quilting (on a domestic machine) - about 3 years. Stopped by my Senior Center & discovered they have a Homesteader longarm sitting in the back room but no one knows how to use it.
Any ideas on where I can get a manual or view some videos on how the thing works? I'm excited!

Howdy & welcome from Texas.
I don't know anything about long arm quilting machines but I did find a facebook page that apparently deals with Homesteaders. Someone asked about a manual & they replied back that they could email it to that person. That was back in March, 2020 but I would give them a try for a manual. The last activity I saw on it was Jan. 2021

First off, hello and greetings from the left Coast!
I found quite a bit with a google or two -- this site is probably a good one for just general feel -- I liked the description that the Homesteader is a Featherweight on steroids!:

There have been threads here on the boards about the machine, this is probably the best one and compiles the others as well:
Homesteader Long Arm?
It looks most likely that the machine you have has no stitch regulator, I find it is still easier to get a nice product on a long arm, especially if set up on rails, than on a domestic. I suggest finding your musical beat to quilt to -- whether that's high energy or soothing.
Here's a source for the manual, I'd probably try the link from osewme first,

Welcome to the QB from SE Michigan, another one of us here. Jump right in and join in the fun. How exciting to find a LA sitting unused. Finding a manual on it could be a fun challenge especially to see this beauty back in service. Keep us posted on your progress. I know someone here will be able to help you find a manual. I am looking forward to seeing you involved on the QB. So jump right in and join the fun on the QB!
