I am a quilt book author new to this forum
I am currently writing a book about the quilt contests sponsored by The Omaha World-Herald (Omaha, Nebraska) from 1931 through 1940. I would love to include photographs of quilts entered in the contests. If anyone out there has a family heirloom that they think or know was entered in a World-Herald contest during those years, please contact me here. I'm also a vintage sewing machine enthusiast/collector. I have 15 vintage machines including 2 children's machines and 4 Featherweights. I know I need to sell some of my machines but have a hard time parting with them.

Welcome from Ontario, Canada. The new issue of The Quilt Life magazine has a feature on the Chicago World Fair quilts I think. I hope you can find some of the original quilts from the Omaha World contest. I am sure they were masterpieces but sadly times were tough and many were used as blankets back then. If you can find photos or patterns, I am sure there would be quilters who would gladly reproduce them. Good luck with your literary endeavor .

Welcome to the forum! I am in NE, but am relatively new to the state. I will be anxiously awaiting your book. There are so many people in the area who quilt. Surely some will have relatives who entered quilts in the OWH contests.
Sounds like you have been bitten by the collecting bug! Do you use all of your machines?
