Welcome, Julie! I purchased a an old quilt several months' ago . . . it is dated 1936. Would you consider that antique? The embroidered patch states: "Ladies Auxiliary Sand Hill Church, Trinity, Ky. 1936". I purchased it from an antique shop in Lebanon, OH. I don't know if it would be considered a scrappy quilt. The colors spoke to me. My husband and I planned to take a trip sometime to Trinity to check their library. The internet search found no church by that name there today. I washed the quilt in a delicate cycle, and used a color catcher in the water. It didn't fade, and the hand stitching remains intact. I only noticed one worn patch towards one corner. At some point, I want to hang the quilt on a wall in my sewing room.
Recently I have discovered the Quilt-themed books of authoress, Jennifer Chiaverini.
