New here, sewing for 31yrs, vintage machine fan
Hi all, I've never actually taken the initiative to do an introduction at a forum to which I belong...so here goes the first! My name is Karin. I live in Maine and have been sewing since my dear mother formed a "class" for my best friend and I in 1981. We made basic garments for ourselves after school and were incredibly proud when finished.
I still find sewing to be the very most fun, invigorating (yet relaxing), and satisfying hobby I have every had. I love vintage machines and am playing with a few at home now.
Perhaps oddly for this site, I do not make quilts. I don't really like quilts per se, but I love TO quilt and do so in many other applications, mostly very practical items made extra special.
I'm trained as a teacher, currently teach skills to new parents, and am a proud housewife and mother.
HELLO!!!
