New from Texas
#1
Hi, Im Jeri from small town usa in between Houston and San Antonio. Now thats a broad statement. Anyway, Im new to quilting also. Ive been slowly gettng my tools together, rulers, patterns and fabric. Lots of ideas floating about my head. Wish there was a place close to take lessons but Im learning as I go and this board has helped me alot. When I get something finished I will post it. Ive decided the best way is to start small even though Id love to make a bedsized quilt, I think its a little too much too fast.

hey, all good things have a beginning......My first quilt was years ago...Irish Chain...knew nothing about quilting but had sewed all my life...what's the difference I thought...proceeded to tear the fabric into strips, and sew them together...well the long/short of this id nothing matched, the srips were woobly and not straight.......anyways, I am still a learner and enjoy that part of quilting the most....I started by watching every quilt show I could...going to the book store and looking thru all the quilt patterns...finally, I was not afraid of "cutting up and sewing together" the beautiful material. I also live on a small town and needed to search out others who would enjoy helping me.....just have fun

Hi, Jeri! Welcome from central Florida. A bedsized quilt is made one block at a time. If that's what you want to do it won't be that hard. You might check with your library for a beginning quilting book.
