Scrap organization and blocks
I found the scrap slayer http://www.scrapslayer.com to be a good site for ideas on organizing, storing, cutting and using scraps. Part way down her home page is a link to the BASICS. There are four parts to her article with lots of photos to help. At the top of the page is a link to patterns using these organized scraps.

Great Site!
I have been slaying my scraps this year and I am very glad I have . When you have strips and blocks on hand, you are ready when an event comes up. My guild is having a JellyRoll race at our next meeting and I had enough 2 1/2" strips already cut. We meet a couple times a month to work at the local extension office. There we have several large tables where we can spread our projects out. If the weather was bad or I could only be there part of the day, I would take fabric scraps and cutting tools and spend my time reducing them to strips and blocks rather than taking my machine. This gives me a time when I can socialize with other quilters. And, I'll get a nice quilt to wrap up in in front ot he TV this winter. It's what people call a win-win.

I was reading this thread on the scrap organization... and I happened to see your Heart block icon or whatever you call it. Is that a pic of a block of yours or another? Do you know of a place where I can find an easy heart pattern? I owe a block to someone and they like batik hearts and the first one I made looks like dodoo and it isn't even the right size. Mine doesn't have rounded tops to the heart- they came out angular. :-( I appreciate your help.
