9 Patches
#4
If you cut your squares 6½ you would have a finished block of 18". Do a sample block and use 9 2½" blocks this should give you a 6 ½" unfinished 6" finished block. I always use scraps and do a sample block to check my cutting, ¼" seams and finished size:)

Here is my problem and maybe you can help me. I seen a quilt on this board that I loved. It has 3 braided panels . So I made mine 7 inches finished, and it has 3 white panels 7 inches finished which gives me a total width of 35 inches wide. Then they made 9 patches for the second outside border. I cute my first outside border 3 inches which would be 2 1/2 inches finished. So now I can't cut my 9 patches 7 1/2 unfinished because they no longer fit. I don't know what size to cut my 9 patches or white squares to make it fit around the first border. There is another white border that goes on after you do you 9 patches. So the second border is a 9 patch, than a white square, another 9 patch and than a white square and so on. Can you help me?

should that be 2 white panels?
so it's
braid - whitepanel - braid - whitepanel - braid = 35" finished
and around all that is a 2.5 finished white border.
So now you're at 37.5" FINISHED, right?
et correct my lousy math - it's now 40" finished.
Is that white border sewn on yet? Do you have more of that fabric?
