Accuquilt surprise with circle die
I haven't posted in a while, but I am still lurking as time permits...
Anyway...I was cutting circles with my accuquilt for a yo yo project. The size I needed was the center one, but my fabric fold overlapped the circle next to it.... and low and behold I got a really nice LEAF. Now I have figured out that if you lay your folded pieces of fabric around the outside of the circle dies, you can make all different sizes of leaves by adjusting how much of the fold is in the circle. Maybe this idea will help others who don't have the leaf dies, or want a lot of different size leaves. Sara

I like trying just a part of the dies to make new shapes. I use the large 9 in hex die to make half hexes. Why not cut the big hex in half? I made that mistake! If you don't cut in half on the grain, then you have a big problem. It's very hard to find the straight of grain after the hex is cut.
