All signed up for classes in June.
In June the sewing and quilt expo will be in Raleigh NC for 3 days. I have a good friend that lives there so I'll be going down there on Thursday and staying until Sunday. Right now we are signed up for a class on dyeing fabric using different methods, a class on quilting using a walking foot and darning foot. I'm really excited because this class is taught in a room with the latest Viking machines; which is one that I have so I'll learn more. We also signed up for a cutting and piecing class making a lap quilt and then a basic class. My friend used to sew and do some quilting so these will really help her but since most of my training is self training I knew that I could benefit as well from even the basic class. I have few tops completed and my piecing skills are doing well and that's why I wanted the quilting class and I'm also looking into the binding classes. By signing up my friend as a newbee we both also get to chose a free class when we get there. I'm also hoping to do an embroidery class.
I like this they way this show is set up. Alot of the classes are set up in rooms with different types of machines; like Viking, Brother, etc. No lugging my heavy machine down there to take classes. There is a supply list for most things with a small fee which I'd rather pay instead of also lugging in more items. With all of the classes that I signed up for the only things that I need to take are things like paper scissors, pins, seam ripper, items like that. Normally when I sign up for a class you have to bring in a lot of stuff and then pay the teacher a fee. These fees are paid when you sign up and you print out your list. I'm so excited. First of all by being able to spend 3 days with a great friend and sharing this with her, secondly by the learning that I'll receive and then of course by all the great things you get to see.

Thanks, I agree. I go to the one here in Hampton even by myself. My friend always wanted to go but never had anyone to go with her. When I called and asked if she wanted to go she was so excited. Now we both are excited.
