I live a distance from this shop that I found last year, The Quilting Nook, in Waxhaw N.C. I'm on thier mailing list and have received news of a sale that sounds disturbingly like a going out of business sale, but they don't call it that. I went to thier website, saw classes in Feb, and March, but nothing for Apiril, so I'm concerned. Does anyone know if this shop is closing? I'd hate to hear it, it was really a charming store with a great selection of batiks. It's a bit of a travel for me, and my schedule is too busy right now, was hoping someone could tell me?

I do....and I went right after the first sale email to use up my card and was told that no, they were not closing but that there was no end date to the sales. But the more sales emails I get, the more likely I think it is. Especially since they also changed their hours. Someone did post out here that they were closing, so maybe someone else knows more than me!
Honestly I really liked their shop and filled my card in less than 1 year....but their hours were very hard for me to make. I work all day and then Saturdays are usually kid/family days. I was going after 4 pm.....and then they changed the closing hour to 4 pm. I think any quilt shop needs to realize that some of their customers work fulltime so it would be nice to have it open one night a week or Sunday afternoon. The shop I love in Houston is open Sunday afternoons and I was often there then.

Waxhaw is I'm guessing a half hour from Charotte.
Thanks for your response, I really do hope they aren't going out of business, and I agree their store hours are terrible. For me the only day I did have to go down there the last two weeks was on Monday, and they are closed on Mondays. It would be nice for them to stay open til 8:00 at least one evening a week. Right now I'm just hoping they stay open period!
I need backing for a king size batik quilt so I will try to get down in the next couple weeks. I guess I'm a bit worried about what the selection will be by the time I do get there, as I will need alot of yardage from one bolt of something coordinating with my quilt!
