Anyone know anything about this sewing machine?

Listed on Columbus, Ohio Craigslist for only $60?
I wonder how much "rehabbing" it needs? It looks like it would sew through just about anything!

The little I know is that Consew is a good brand of industrial machine. Many home sewers use them for upholstery and thicker fabrics. May be a good buy even if you end putting some money into it. Google the name and see what you come up with. Looks like new they run over 1500 most places. Might ask how old it is and how many hours (roughly) that it has been used. They may or may not know but it is one question I would ask before buying.

I had a similar machine a while ago and found that its way too powerful and fast to use for quilting. they are great for upholstery or canvas stitching etc. You might want to know what the 'rehabbing' involves...... sounds like a good price but it may cost more to rehab than its worth?

Consew--industrial machine, straight stitch, work horse and very very fast! Some use them successfully quilting. Made for heavy duty fabrics in a sewing factory. This price is about average for this type of machine and bench. There usually is a 'oil bath' in the table. That means there is standing oil in a tray that the machine sits in. Can't tell with this one.

I have a consew 205rb1. Yes it is fast ; 2500 spm. It is equipped with a (servo) motor that has a dial to control the speed from the maximum to a really slow crawl.
I believe the new motor sells for about $80 on ebay.
