anyone made Mexican Stars????
I am in the process of making Mexican Stars I have it all pieced and now it says to pull back the bias edges of the folded triangle inserts towards their corners and topstitching them close to their folds. For example the center block will change from a straight seam design to a curved look. Wondering if anyone has done this have any tips to doing it???????????

This is the same technique used for cathedral windows quilts. You might want to look for those instructions.
The edge that is folded should be on the bias, so should roll easily. To keep it in place, you can machine stitch or hand stitch. You want to roll it just enough that the ends wind up in a nice point.

I did one. They are stunning. Here is the link to mine.

Folding under the long edge to create the curve is surprisingly easy, even if the long edge is not on the bias (many of mine were not - just don't tell the quilt police!). The curve is a gentle one, not an extreme curve. You won't have any problems.

Yes! I have done that beautiful pattern. Hope these pictures can help you. See the unturned one at the top of the first picture. Thought it would be difficult but really very easy! Let me know if I can help further!
