I was just sitting here wondering if anyone has ever used french seams on the outside of anything? They are completely enclosed so they would not fray. I think they would look nice on something, just not sure what.

French seam is when you need an enclosed seam on a finished edge or it is a good way of doing it. Looks very neat. You take the two pieces wrong sides together and sew a small seam (not sure of size) Press it. Turn inside out, and sew another seam, larger, this encloses the first seam, the finished edge is on the inside. You have to press this well. This is not a real good description, maybe someone can help me out and explain better. They are neat and I use them where I can on the inside, but if the seam were on the outside and sewn down some, it would give a little more dimension and visual interest, I THINK.
