Assembling new pattern
#22
If you scroll up to the top of this page, on the left hand side, just before the subject line are two boxes ... one says "bookmark" ... if you click on that box, another page will pop up and ask you if you want to bookmark this thread ... then, whenever you want to come to this thread, all you have to do is go to the top of any Quilting Board page and find the link to "my bookmarks" and it will show you any threads you have chosen to keep track of.
Another way we can keep track of each other is through PM ... You PM (private message) anyone by clicking on their name, it will take you to like an identity page and you click on PM and then just type a message, much the same way you reply in the thread. An email will arrive at your personal email, just like a regular thread, click on the link, it will take you to your private message board, click on the email and you can read whatever, and reply much the same way you do in a thread.
I think it is very cleverly managed for benefit of all, the board has many features that "protect" us and guard our privacy as much as we want to be protected (I may not have articulated that well :? but, this is a good site for a number of very good reasons, as I am sure you are discovering.)
I will send you a PM so you can see part of what I am talking about <wave>

Just as an update ... I received the pattern, and was hmmm ... shocked seems like such an overstatement, disgusted might not be so harsh ... bewildered!
Bewildered at how incomplete the instructions were.
I got everything, but it would NOT be the first thing I taught a student to produce ... and, the pattern is ... well, for crying outloud!
There are a LOT better ways to write the pattern ... it was about like my chicken scratching when I am taking notes on Quilt in a Day, for just my personal use ...
I am being harsh ... I apologize ... but, we will be working through it together, so I will quit my grousing and start putting things in order for tomorrow's mystery quilt and maybe even get in on a sale at the LQS on Saturday ... sleeping in four hour spurts does cut into one's productivity, but the upside is:
I can take time to think without having those basic daily needs demands interrupting me <g>
Anyone else joining us on this one?
Basically, this thread will be a conversation ... if you want specific measurements, best go order the pattern <g>
the whole thing may end up in a tutorial, but at this point, it is just a conversation about an intricate pattern that will be beautiful, once all the pieces get put together (and, totally out of my comfort zone - - but, hey! This is how I learn ;-)

okay! So crafty is way ahead of me on this pattern, but, last night I actually had to get into this .. of course, I immediately start double guessing the colors I had chosen - - you KNOW I went shopping on the fly - - the pattern was safely stored on the supply wall in the bunkhouse ... so, I was out there winging it. So, here are pictures of section seven, lined up with section 6 ... the question is: Where does the 2.5 x 10.5 strip go?
In this picture, you will see that it had to be sewn on to the LEFT side of the top section, before adding the bottom section, before you can add section 6.
I haven't ironed a thing, and if it shows up here and needs to be separated a bit, or something, I will get it. in the meantime:

the lower right corner of section 6 has flipped up

the strip in question is in the top half of section 7

Hopefully, this will show the section better.
I highly recommend that everyone IRON ... do not do as I do, but trust me when I tell you it is BETTER!
Too long working in a factory - - is that a good excuse??? LOL
The piece in question is in the upper right portion of the picture. Lighting in the old bunkhouse leaves a little to be desired, so I had to change my position.
If there is another way I can show the pieces and the issue, suggestions gladly accepted <g> <wave>
