Baby Book Material or something else for gift
We have a young couple in the campground that has a little boy turning 1 in March. She is from out of state and wants to have those here come to a 1st birthday for her son. Would like to give something special since they are away from home working. Thought of a rag quilt, then I thought a book. Do you have any other suggestions as to what would be a quick easy gift for him? If yout hink the book is a good idea, is there a website that has the material for the books?
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks for your time.

Almost any place you buy fabric will have the fabric book panels. Another idea would be a small tote bag with some toy cars in it or a simple floor mat with roads drawn on it for him to run his cars on. You could use fusible to put the roads on.

I get the book panels at Walmart and Joann's but I saw my LQS had a lot more variety than either of them. I made the same books for my twin great-nephews. I used the embroidery letters on my machine and inserted their names like it was part of the book. They each knew whose book it was and they loved reading about themselves in their very own book. I did a different one that way for my grandson too. Kids love to know they are special.

you can buy book panels on many dififferent websites. Just put panels in the search box and they will usually come up. they take about an hour or hour and a half to put together, so you don't need a lot of lead time, and most places will have it shipped to you in plenty of time. Or--i have two or three finished that I haven't gotten around to donating anywhere, if you want one.
