To Back or not to Back

So I am doing this simple tablecloth. The pattern says to just turn under the final border edge to create a hem without doing a backing or batting. I can understand no batting, but no backing? So I am looking for thoughts on whether this tablecloth should have a back to cover the raw edges of the sewing. And if I do put a back on it, should I quilt it? Thanks for your thoughts!

Do you want to quilt or not is a factor. What does the the back look like and if you have a backing and it it pieced it will stop the raveling. :D :D :D
Can you post a pic it will give us a better idea what to recommend!!!!!
