Bernina 550QE w/BSR
Hi Friends, I need your advice - please I'm wanting to buy a (another one - I have a Bernina 900 from 1981 that still works) new Bernina and was strongly looking at the 550QE w/BSR. Does anyone have one of these models AND do you actually use/and like??? Do you use the BSR????? I also have to confess that I have a Baby Lock Elegante 2 and really like it, but when I put it in for servicing I pulled out my old Bernina and "fell in love with it" all over again. So, I went out "window shopping" and zeroed in on the 550QE w/BSR. Am I wrong in wanting another sewing machine???? Of course DH doesn't know that I'm seriously considering "another machine" at this point. Thanks for your input!!

I don't have this particular machine but I do have the BSR and absolutely love it!! As you know Berninas sew like a dream and last forever. The BSR is a wonderful feature. I'm glad I have it on my machine.

Aurora 440QE and I just bought a new Bernina 750QEE. I love Bernina machines. The BSR is wonderful.

I did not care for the 550 I used I say buy a tru stitch regulator for your ellegante. Haven't tried the BSR so can't comment on it. I personally think the 550 is overpriced for the features it has IMHO

Quilter1 and I have a lot in common!! I, too, have the 830 Record and recently DH gave me the 750QE with the BSR... I haven't used it much yet, but I can tell I'm going to just LOVE it!!! what a difference it makes...
I imagine that in most cases you'll get excellent service with a Bernina... for many years... At least in OKC, they treat you like you are very special!!

I don't have that machine; but added the BSR to my Artista 200 when the BSR came out. At the time, I thought the BSR was very expensive. Now I say it was money well spent. I love the BSR! I use mine constantly. It makes FMQ so easy for me.
