Butterfly quilt pattern
Hi ladies, as I've mentioned before, I'm ready to attempt my first quilt. I'm looking for an applique butterfly with embroidery. I remember this from my childhood but cannot find a pattern. I found lovely butterfly material at Connecting Threads that I will use.

I know the Butterfly pattern you mean I think. It was about 1930's applique pattern with wings/black center and sometimes black buttonhole stitched around the edge. You might be able to use Google and type depression or Feedsack appliqué butterfly pattern. You could also just make your own wing shapes with 2 larger long heart shapes and 2 smaller heart shape and a center ong body shape. There re pieced butterfly patterns I think at www.quilterscache.com/quiltblocksgalore.html
Okay try Googling the address because it doesn't want to work

I have this pattern, and although I haven't made the quilt yet, i recently saw it finished at the county fair. It was really pretty http://www.ebay.com/itm/ROSEMARYS-BU...-/251319358477

I have a pattern for an appliqued butterfly with embroidery that is probably the one you are looking for. As soon as I find it I will post it. I acquired it when trying to duplicate a quilt my great grandmother made in the 30's or 40's. It was one of those patterns published in the newspaper back then and I found it in an old magazine. The original quilt was loved to death and is in poor condition.

Maybe this one? http://qisforquilter.com/2011/06/ali...erfly-pattern/ is the pattern that my Mom used to make each of us (7 kids) a quilt like it. I have mine and my sisters just older than me. These go to 2 of my grand daughters when they get their first homes. My quilt was made in 1948 my sister 's in 1947.
