Buying A Featherweight
#5
Depending on how much he wants for it. I would make sure that I could test it out, and if you can't he needs to drop the price. They have been going on ebay for as little as 175.00 to over 500.00. If I couldn't try it out I would still pay 100.00.

Get it while you can. The cord is easily replaced whether you order online or from a 'real' store. You get the accessories and case too.
Featherweights are easily maintained and even though you would want a FW type tech to go over it first to check for timing, you can then do all the upkeep yourself.
Lucky you.
