Can not wait....
My mom (johanka) will be here in one week. Wonder what kind of "trouble" the two of us can get in to. Let see, first thing is to pull out my Storm At Sea quilt (from a kit) and have a look at it. Until I signed up on the board last Aug., she was my only set of eyes to look at some thing. Mind you she lives 1300 miles from me so it was all via Computer. Now I have everybody out here and it it a wonderful gift!!!
Once we get done playing with the layout on that, she gets to go through all the tops that I have to quilt, about 10. Then there are 4 different LQS within a 30 to 40 mile drive from my house. Not to mention the thrift stores and a few Antique stores on the way. Wonder if my DH and two young sons can handle all this???
On top of that fun, she also gets to spend time with the newest quilter in the family, my 9 year old son. He can not wait to show her what he has been doing. Then there will be at least one or two projects that we will work on together. Guess I better rest now, since I do not see any coming once she gets here and I can not wait for the time she is here!!!!

What a wonderful thing to have your mother with you, and to spend time working together on projects. I am so happy to hear that your 9 year old son has start to quilt, what a great legacy you and your mom can pass on to him. Enjoy yourself, the housework and cooking can wait, make memories.

Julie...........enjoy every minute of time you can with your mom. I have mine very close and we are always looking at what we can do with our quilting. She got me into embroidery and I got her into quilting. So we combine them both all the time.
I wish my son lived closer as I have found out this christmas his wife wants to learn how to quilt. But i do have my sister in law who wants to learn also. We are a close family, now living in the same home is me, mom, stepdad, brother and SIL. I hope my son and DIL move up here when she graduates from college the end of the year.
Happy New Year

Sounds like you and your mom are going to be VERY busy having fun! Make sure to slip your camera in your purse and take pics of the two of you on your adventures. Someday you will be very glad you did. I miss my mom everyday.
