Charm Pack Quilt Patterns
#1
I just finished making a very pretty quilt using a charm pack. I loved how it came together! Now I am curious to see other quilt patterns that use charm packs. Anyone have one they would be willing to share? Or know where I could find one?
The pattern I have is very simplistic, and I would happy to share a photocopy if anyone wants to send me a SASE. (What I have is a photocopy of a photocopy that the local quilt shop gave me, it says it is ok to distribute for non commercial purposes.)

I'm in the process of making a charm pack/jelly roll quilt for my nephew. I had to opt for quick and easy with so many Christmas projects to get done. I have all the blocks done just need to put the blocks in some sort of order now.
Charm packs vary in quantity. They are usually packaged with one print each from a designers collection. The one I just worked with had 36 5 inch squares, I got mine at Joann's. I just stumbled across them and it was the only collection of them they had. I hope they start to carry more!

This is the only quilt I've made from them. I do table runners all the time. this one took 2 charm packs and some background fabric, and it was really fun to do. There are lots of books out there using charm squares.

I posted the quilt I made on my blog, www.blueribbontoes.blogger.com
Don't mock the wrinkledness, it isn't like that in person. I just chased my two cats off of it moments before. Frankly, I was too lazy to smooth it back out before I took the picture! Ha!
The pinwheels in the corner are not part of the original design.
The technique of this pattern was interesting. You make a rectangle, 6 charms by 12 I believe... Then cut that rectangle into three parts. By flipping around and re arranging the triangles you turn the rectangle into a square. Your charm squares then look like diamonds. Pretty neat!
