I am a semi-new quilter having only completed 4 so far. I really want to make a Card Trick quilt but the only pattern I have found is for a 9" finished block. I would really like to make a 12" block as I am doing a queen size. The cuts for the square for the 9" pattern are as follows:
3 7/8 x 3 7/8" squares
4 1/4 x 4 1/4" squares cut in have twice diagonally
Does anyone either have a pattern for a larger square or know how to convert this to do so? I don't trust myself to try the conversion. Thanks in advance for any help

Thank you so much all of you. I have found one and am all set for a 12" block. This is the most wonderful site. I have learned so much and if I don't get a chance to read the daily posts I feel like I am going into withdrawal :)

That's too funny. I wanted to do a 9" card trick and could only find a 12" pattern. Finally found one and love the way it turned out. I decided to try different quilt blocks just to see if I could do them, and I think my project just might turn into a sampler quilt. I really do wish I had chosen to make 12 inch blocks. There are a lot more patterns for those than the nine. I'm fairly new to quilting also and not good at converting patterns.

There is definitely a lot to learn with this craft but I am absolutely completely in love with it and like others on this site I am trying to find a way to have more time to do it. It is those pesky tasks such as working, cleaning and cooking meals that are getting in my way
