Dating a Singer Treadle
#1
What I thought was my Grandmother's treadle in my parents garage is actually my GG! Didn't have time to mess with it because they are in the middle of moving. No camera either.
Trying to research this thing and so far I think I have two dates. 1910 and 1915. Could someone help me here? The number on the machine is G4386440.
There is an old piece of material under the foot but when I tried to raise it, it wouldn't budge. Let's say it just needs a good cleaning and belts replaced. Anyone have a vague guess on the cost for this? I would have to take it to Vegas for any work. Would really appreciate any help on this.
Thanks, Karen

Go to treadle and vintage singer models ([email protected]) They have a quide to ser. no. and the age and where made. Also on the sewingmachineshop.com they have tutorials on how to clean a machine. Have cleaned many old treadles with karosene and a tooth brush, then oil. youcan also get manuals from the sewingmachine221sale site. It is easy to do. Glenn

Try a small spot on the back side of the pillar and see, but I have never had any problems with using Kerosene on any of my machines but I use it for cleaning the mechanics. I use a non pumice GoJo for cleaning the finish using cotton balls and Q-Tips working in small areas.

I need some help. I have the serial #G7507212 and believe it was made in 1919 in Jersey. I need to know the model type as I believe the bobbin case is missing. There may be other things missing also. It needs a belt and new decals if I can find them. Anyone have any ideas of where to get these things or the information I would be very grateful.
