Today I received an e-mail from a very charming lady who's asking our advice on fabrics - before placing an order - to make sure they go together.
I did a double-take when she said that she has a "mere 920 mile drive" to the nearest major city with fabric stores. (She's in the far north of Canada.)
Gee... she deserves a prize for dedication to the art of quilting!

She also mentioned that being in the far north, they don't bother to shovel snow much, because it will all melt away again "soon enough".
Oh my... I think she deserves a prize for patience, too!

I have one LQS that is 2 miles and another that is 3....so I'm a happy quilter! My son is in the Air Force in Alaska and I think he's learning that people there are used to talking about traveling hundreds of miles and don't seem to think anything of it.
