Does anyone know how to get paint out of a quilt?

This is a quilt lovingly made by my MIL. Made from silk ties and then hand quilted. My son accidentally got acrylic paint on the quilt. Of course, on the white part! Does anyone have any ideas how to get the paint out? I am afraid to touch it without the words of wisdom from this board. Thanks!

I have had success with rubbing alcohol on acrylic paint-ask me how I know. Be careful near the colored blocks. The only problem may be the color on white fabric. I have gotten black paint off a pink shirt though.

Oh dear - I've just been researching painting on fabric (my next adventure!) and have read that acrylic is permanent once dry and it doesn't need to be heat set. So I'd say either white it out with more acrylic or applique a motif over it.

Don't give up yet.
Try on a Q-tip just dabbing at one spot to see if it will soften and lift off:
peroxide
alcohol
Goof-off
Oxy-clean
Amway prewash is the best. I have used it for years until I ran out recently and have not reordered yet.
You will have to make sure the surrounding areas that do not have paint on them don't get wet or the paint could literally run into those spots. And definitely stay away from heat of any sort. Work slowly and methodically. It may take several days of dabbing and maybe even soaking just those areas.
Good luck.
