An Early Christmas Gift
I was given a Brother Project Runaway Computerized Sewing Machine yesterday from my Aunt and Uncle. I was wondering if anyone has one and how do you like it. Is it good for quilting. I am not sure about a computerized sewing machine and I did not have the heart to tell them that I'm not sure that I like it.

how very nice of them to gift you with a sewing machine! i don't have that model, but a similar one. mine sews very nice stitches and it light enough to move to different locations. i'm not crazy about the mark on the foot for the 1/4"... i trained my eye to look at the shiny spot next to the mark
the light on the machine is not very bright... i have to put my Ott light next to it. i'm satisfied with mine.

My dear MIL gave me her old computerized sewing machine when she upgraded. Even though it had a standard throat space, I could not believe how nice it was to sew with automatic tension and all those beautiful stitches. You can use these stitches for quilting or attaching applique.
Here's a website with info on it: (I don't have this one, but you should work through the manual and do some simple projects with it.) http://www.brother-usa.com/homesewin...W#.UHVTV66XOSo

Wow...can I be your cousin too? LOL. Enjoy your machine. You can never have too many. Be sure to make something nice for your aunt and uncle, they seem like really nice people. Have fun with your new toy, it will soon become your favorite, I am sure.

I have 2 Brother Project Runways. I love them, they are my go to machines. They are light enough to travel around with and are very durable. I thought I had torn my oldest one up so I rushed out and bought another. I have 8 others machines but I love my Brothers best

If it's similar to the CS600i- I like mine. A few quirks, but it meets my needs. Spiffed mine up with a generic 1/4" foot from JoAnns that I prefer to the foot that came with it, and wish that center or left needle position was the default, but it stitches well.
