I have a Fiskers and several other brands in different sizes too. I always use the Fiskers 45..its my go to, but I have the same problems as you. I did manage to put an Olfa blade in it the other day...jammed it up and thought I was going to throw it away, but DH fixed it. Scared me to dead, there he was tugging on a BRAND NEW BLADE with his bare hand!!! Yikes!!!
I do need to get one that locks the blade IN when I put it down though. I have a bad habit of leaving the blade out and I cut my finger last night when I barely hit it on the blade. Had to stop cutting and go for 1st Aid....

Both rotary cutters are the same size, 45.

I use both the Fiskars and the Olfa 45 mm cutters. I like the Olfa better because it is more comfortable in my hands. Since I use the Olfa more often, it has seemed to me lately that the blades are dulling fairly quickly. Have you tried the new rotary blade sharpeners? I'm wondering how those work out.
