Fixing a torn quilt
#2
A picture would help , but if it is on a seam...have you tried invisible stitching....or you could cut a strip of leftover fabs and applique it over the tear. .It would look like you meant to do it and cover the problem to boot. :-) Depending on where the tear is.... have you dated and labled the quilt? Would it work there?

Since it's on the back, I'd just applique a heart or flower or something over it. My very first quilt was destroyed by an anxious Great Dane puppy left alone, nesting through quilt, blanket, sheets, electric mattress pad, and just stopping short of mattress. I came home to a soundly sleeping dog and a huge debris field. A little character mark is not going to hurt the wearability, and give it a little more personality.

If you have a scrap of the backing fabric left over, see if you can pattern match it, then cut a patch out and appplique it over the hole...viola'...then hand stitch a continuation of the quilting pattern on this piece only so it doesn't show on the front...you are done and it will never show.
Good luck!
