Forest Floor Quilt
Has anyone done the Forest Floor by Wing and a Prayer? I got it as a BOM and am way behind on it but am finding that the instructions that are in black and white are really giving me fits. I have taken and cut small squares of each fabric and pasted them to a board to try to help me keep is straight what color goes where but I guess I am asking if everyone elses instructions are in black and white, no color images. Also if you have done this quilt do you have any tips for me?

Have you checked the website? I found the blocks here in colour - you can save or print out.

Your instructions are in black and white.... and it's part of a BOM? I'm wondering if the person or company who is providing the BOM is illegally copying and distributing the pattern. Do you know if the "official" pattern is in color?

Yes, made this at a BOM class at my local fabric shop I think last year. Didn't go for the one this year as I'm getting too behind on my quilting. Why did your instructions come in black and white? Is it a copy as the original comes in color.

Hi Suz, my stomach has just churned. When I complained about the black and white, ( and many others did as well) they said I could take pictures of the finished quilt on the wall. What I am hoping is that the shops had the option to copy that pattern and they opted to do theirs in black and white and not color to save them money.

Since Wing and a Prayer has "color block images" posted on line, I'd think that they let the stores hand out black and white instructions. I download a lot of patterns and print them off, but do not have a color printer so I'm use to the difficulty using black and white instructions. I like those that use codes of some sort on the pictures so you don't ahve to rely on the color to figure out what it is.

Mystery Solved! Some of their patterns are in gray scale. I sent an email to the company directly. They also said I should have a color picture of the finished quilt, which I dont. Well I guess I do because I took one of the quilt on the wall at the store. Thank you to all who replied. Sandra
