Found a treasure. . . now how to use it?

I found a cone of clear nylon thread for a serger at a thrift shop and bought it, but I am not sure if I can use it with my sewing machine. It is very fine, about like a hair. Can I wind it on my bobbin and use it as the top thread also? I would like to do invisible stitching of raw edge appliques if I can. Any advise?

You can use it in your bobbin and top thread. It is tricky to get started when filling the bobbin but it can be done. You also have to pull your threads out farther than normal when ending; otherwise your needle becomes unthreaded.

Worth a try. Some of the clear threads are tempermental about which direction they feed from, so if it does not work on the first try, unwind the first bobbin onto another so it feeds in the same direction it would if it were coming off the spool.
