Fraying fabric?
Our church is making a scrappy quilt from stash for the bazaar. We found a nice weight, prefect color for the solid, but it's a twill weave and wants to fray. Will the seams hold once it's together if I have the stitchers use a smaller stitch? It will probably be tied rather than quilted. If I were to use it for apparel, I would serge or zigzag the seams, but quilted seams are totally enclosed so it's different. Thoughts, anyone??

I'd probably do my best to find something else to use in it's place. It may be the perfect weight and the perfect color, but it's not the perfect fabric. Along with fraying seams, the twill will also not hold the knotted ties as securely as a regular woven cotton. A bazaar quilt is not something to be worried about holding together for whoever purchases it.
