FYI .....From my Dealer

I was not buying a new machine so he was not trying to sell me anything, he is my good friend for years. He said that with the problems in Japan (and I've heard this from my own son who works for a Japanese Co) parts and supplies for your sewing machines as well as new machines may soon become costlier and perhaps in shorter supply until they can recover. So if you know your machine needs a fixin' you might want to think about this.
Also, we should remember these machines are made with plastic....plastic is a petroleum product.....so we can expect as the price of oil goes up, so will sewing machines. Just passing on what I heard.

This is the truth, I deal with Brewer sewing & quilting and although Bernina bought them out, MOST machines post 1970 have plastic parts and most parts made in Japan!
I am already having issues in getting bobbin cases and certain feet!
