We have a Christmas Party at guild. We have a silent auction table with all handmade items from quilt members, including bake goods. The year's challenge projects hung and voted on for prizes and we have an ornament exchange. We play games too. One is Musical Fabric. Pass around one yard of fabric (everyone brings one yard) and when the music stops, tear the fabric you end up with in half, keep going and tearing until it's a piece about 4 x 4 inches. That's a next year's challenge!

One game played at our party was a lot of prep work but pretty impressive to play! The gals in charge brought 12 different 12 1/2" finished quilt blocks, all posted on a board. We were given a sheet of paper with the names of blocks scrambled. We had to name the blocks to match the ones displayed, and the winner got to take them all home!!

Ok this is something I did for my daughter's kindergarten class but it can be adapted for your guild meeting. Take a nice quilt book and wrap it once for every person at the party. Between each layer of wrap put a small prize, like a pack of needles or maybe a book mark. At the meeting "pass the parcel" Each person opens a layer and takes her gift after saying something like "what she wants for Christmas" or " what project she will start/finish" then at the end the book is raffled off with a drawing.
