Gingher 5" scissors--opinions please!
I am new to this whole posting thing, so I am not even sure if I am asking this question in the right place/format. Has anyone had an experience, good or bad, with Gingher 5" scissors? In working on my Grandmother's Flower Garden I cut a LOT of hexagons. I have already worn out a great pair of titanium scissors and decided to splurge on the Gingher. I have only used them once, but am not impressed. I do have other Gingher styles and love them. Any input? I am trying to decide to see if they "grow" on me, or just take them back now.

I have five pair of the 5 inch ones and I almost don't use anything else. They are great, I even use them when I'm embroidering. I cut fabric with them when the need arises, although most of my fabric is rotary cut. I have used Ginghers for years after trying about everything else on the market and not being happy with anything else. Have also tried the Kai small scissors but am not totally sold on them, so I guess I'll carry on with my Ginghers...

Personally, I have never warmed to a pair of scissors if I didn't immediately like them. I would take them back. I believe Kai is supposed to have a good line of scissors with micro-serrated edges that are supposed to be really nice for fabric. Don't know if they come in a 5-inch size, though.

It's just scissors. Buy several brands and styles and find ones you are comfortable with. I like Havel scissors better then Gingher for cutting a lot of fabric pieces. Right now Havel will send you a free pair of scissors with any order. Request the catalog. http://www.havelssewing.com/fabric-scissors.html

Another hearty vote for Kai scissors, and they DO have lots of sizes. I have many, many brands of scissors and all my Kai pairs are my favorite.

This may be a dumb question, I've never made anything with hexies, but wouldn't it be easier with a rotary cutter?
