Someone mentioned in another thread that she just wets the quilt and puts it through the dryer rather than washing first, to save her washer. She said it rags and de-lints just as well as washing.

I saw a jean quilt displayed at a quilt store in Eagle River, Alaska, that was very similar to this. She did not stitch though each block and it looked fantastic. The squares were about 4 1/2 inch square. The smooth side was the flannel side and the raveled side was the jean side...
What are rag scissors? Why do you need to buy a special scissor? The seams on the displayed quilt were snipped about every 3/8 inch or so and nicely frayed.
It had no batting....just jeans and flannel and was so soft.
