Gotta have it fabric

OK, it's a known fact and can be openly acknowledged without fear of judgment, there's hardly a fabric made that we haven't loved at some time or another. Maybe we've gotten in a fight with our Micheal Miller's and took up with some RJR's. Could be we were swept off our feet by Timeless Treasures and left Andover in the dust. Or in a huff with South Sea Imports and got back at it with some Robert Kaufman's. Yes, it's sad, we may have turned our selves into fabric cheaters! Which incidentally, was how cheater's cloth came into existence! Oh, the horrible shame and guilt!
Well, you get the picture. Please don't feel guilty. As the song goes, "If You Can't Be With the Fabric You Love, Love the Fabric You're With" (or something like that. )
I'm always scouring all the latest quilt mags for new fabric lines to add to the collection. I'm ready to ooh and ahh over your choices of fabric you just can't live without.
My current flavor of the moment is Aviary by Moda. I saw the whole line at a LQS. They were all out of charms, so I just ordered three packs online. It was the most economical for me at the moment since there's 42 fabrics that sell for 5.00 a half yard, rounded up. That comes out to $210 plus. If I could, I'd get a yard of each! It's just so pretty.
So, what's making your hands tremble and eyes light up? :P

Aviary is gorgeous - my LQS has a pattern for it (applique leaves and a seminole border) that was well worth the $2.
It's no big secret that I am a Red Rooster fan  and I'm working on adapting one of their panel patterns for a wall hanging. I like most of what Whimsicals does for Red Rooster, and I just love their Vintage Homestead line. There is a line coming out called Pumpkins and Spice that will make its way to my sewing room, I'm sure!
I did 'cheat' and picked up a couple of charm packs of Kansas Winter by Moda  , but in my defense any Kansas Troubles fabric is hard to resist :-) One of my LQS's had some Eleanor Burns fabric by Benartex half off, and of course that had to come home as well.
My stash is eclectic :D

For me, pretty much any Moda Holly Taylor fabrics. I have pretty much everything they have by her except the brand new line (whose name escapes me at the moment). Love the cozy, cabin-y feeling, especially in flannel. I'm completely addicted!

I really like Swell and Sweet by Moda. Also Darla and Ava Marie. I haven't had the money to buy any yet, except for the Swell- got some of that- but someday... especially the Darla- I love every color and every fabric in the line. I am hoping to at least get a fat quarter pack of it before it's unavailable anymore.
I buy a LOT of fabric at Goodwill and other thrift stores and repurpose it- like old sheets or old clothes if they are cute and priced low enough. So some of my fabric is very cheap, and some is well, NOT very cheap! LOL!

I was browsing the Moda website the other day (dangerous thing to do, I know) and I saw "The Morris Workshop" by Barbara Brackman. I absolutely adore William Morris' work, so of course I fell in love with the fabric collection immediately. I'm going to have to find some extra freelance work so that I can aford to buy a whole bunch of it!

I guess I started out cheating and will go out feet first still cheating, a different designer's fabric clutched in each hand    I love all kinds of fabrics and bounce from manufacturer to manufacturer....which ever one catches my eye...Just to buy for my stash, usually that is batiks, brights, blenders and unique landscaping fabrics.

Bonnie Blue Basics by Paula Barnes for Marcus Brothers http://www.marcusfabrics.com/cgi-bin...2&View=All&v=1 along with Bonnie Blue Neutrals http://www.marcusfabrics.com/cgi-bin...1&View=All&v=1 .
Tomorrow it will be Essentials from Studio E Fabrics http://www.studioefabrics.com/index.php?cPath=32_38 along with Essentials II http://www.studioefabrics.com/index.php?cPath=32_70. Both collections are all black and whites.
The day after, another designer, another manufacturer, another collection. I am an equal opportunity coveter. :)

I usually just buy what looks good at the time. But, I also have had my eye on the Morris Workshop fabrics. I keep telling myself that I need to hurry up and finish my wip's then I can splurge and buy some. If and when I do, it is going to be used in a quilt for me!
